Carolina Reaper
According to Guinness, the Carolina Reaper chile pepper is considered the hottest pepper on earth. Carolina Reaper was grown in Carolina, and is now a stable hybrid pepper formerly known as HP22B, which stands for "Higher Power, Pot No. 22, Plant B." This chile pepper was bred for heat from a red habanero strain and a Naga Viper chile pepper. The hottest individual Carolina Reaper came in at 2.2 million Scoville heat units surpassing the previous record holder, Trinidad Moruga Scorpion which stood at over 2,000,000 Scoville heat units.
The Carolina Reaper is about 1.5 to 2 inches in total length,it is bumpy and has a scorpion like tail. It is considered to be the sweetest and most flavorful of the super hot peppers. Our Carolina Reaper peppers are grown in Ecuador.
