Beware though — they aren’t for the faint of heart.
Ghost Pepper Dalmatian
The Dalmatian is like the classic Greyhound or Salty Dog — but with a bite. This cocktail packs some serious heat with the addition of pepper to the mix. Dust the rim with chili lime seasoning for an added citrus kick.
- 1 1/2 oz Bhut Jolokia Simple Syrup*
- 1 1/2 oz Vodka
- 3 oz grapefruit juice (pink)
Combine ingredients in a shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously. Strain into an ice filled glass. Garnish with a grapefruit slice.
*Bhut Jolokia Simple Syrup
- 1/4 tsp dried Bhut Jolokia pod
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup cane sugar
Put all ingredients into a pot and bring to a boil, stirring several times. Once it has boiled and all of the sugar is dissolved, take off of heat and let cool. The longer the Bhut Jolokia stays in the syrup, the hotter it will be. In order to avoid too much spice, remove the pepper after boiling.
